And almost 24 hours later, his wife Coleen Rooney has finally broken her silence, taking to Twitter to share a sassy post about the sportsman's achievements.
The 31-year-old, who is pregnant with the couple's fourth child, wrote on behalf of herself and their offspring: 'My husband & our Dad has scored more goals for England than any other England player EVER!!!! So there.'
