It was a fruitful opening weekend in the Football League for both of Everton’s current loan stars.
Goalkeeper Russell Griffiths made his Football League debut as Cheltenham Town began their campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Leyton Orient.
The hosts got their return to League Two off to the worst possible start as Orient’s Gavin Massey slotted home at the far post to open the scoring inside three minutes.
Griffiths came to the rescue with a number of important saves, including denying Massey a second of the afternoon with a spectacular stop nine minutes after the interval.
