Ramiro Funes Mori has been named in Argentina’s 35-man preliminary squad for this summer’s World Cup finals in Russia.
The 27-year-old centre-half played in four of Everton’s last five Premier League games after making his return from a torn meniscus when replacing Yannick Bolasie against Swansea City last month after a year out of action.
The defender subsequently featured off the bench against both Huddersfield Town and Southampton before making his first start in the final fixture of the campaign at West Ham United on Sunday.
Argentina are set to face Iceland - who named Gylfi Sigurdsson in their squad last week - Croatia and Nigeria in the group stage when the World Cup kicks off in June in Russia.
