Coventry City have handed a trial to former Everton, Middlesbrough and Leicester hitman Yakubu.
The 34-year-old is without a club having left Kayserispor in Turkey following an unsuccessful year with them.
And now League One Coventry have reportedly invited 'the Yak' on trial to see if he can prove he is worth handing a contract.
Russell Slade's side are currently rock bottom of the table having scored just 23 goals in 29 games, so are desperate to add some firepower to the squad.
Yakubu's credentials are undoubted given his record in English football, where he scored 140 goals during stints at Everton, Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Leicester and Blackburn Rovers.
