We kick off today with Mason Holgate, who has been chatting to evertonfc.com about the competition for places in the squad.
The young defender is fighting for the vacant right-back berth in the absence of Seamus Coleman against the likes of Cuco Martina, Jonjoe Kenny and Tom Davies, but he says that is just one example in the squad at the moment.
“It is not only right-back, I think pretty much all over the starting XI we could play one or two people in every position,” Holgate said.
“It is positive that there is a lot of competition for places.
