An Under-11s girls team representing Everton Football Club are celebrating after being crowned champions at this year's Premier League Primary Stars tournament.
The year six squad from Malvern Primary School in Huyton beat 19 other schools, each representing a different Premier League club, to lift the trophy at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium.
A 3-0 win over Overingham School, representatives of Newcastle United, secured victory in the final, before the Malvern players were presented with their trophy by the Premier League’s Chief Executive Richard Scudamore.
“I was so nervous at the start of the final but then we got going and scored that first goal,” said Zara, who top scored for the Blues with 10 goals.
