Everton players may be called as witnesses after the club vowed to ban for life the yob who shamed them against Lyon.
Goodison chiefs were horrified by the images of a man holding a toddler while aiming punches at Lyon keeper Anthony Lopes during Everton’s 2-1 Europa League defeat on Thursday.
Everton issued a statement on Friday saying they were taking the strongest possible action, shortly before UEFA confirmed they had opened disciplinary proceedings against the club, with a hearing due on November 16.

The man has been identified by Everton, who have lodged a complaint with Merseyside Police.
