Everton are hopeful of Arnaut Danjuma agreeing to join on loan from Villarreal after the 25-year old considered offers from a number of clubs.
Frank Lampard's side sit 19th in the Premier League table and are set for another relegation scrap this season, having only survived in the final week of last campaign.
Danjuma, who has been granted permission to leave the LaLiga club on loan until the end of the season, has attracted interest across a host of top flight clubs, including Everton's relegation rivals Nottingham Forest.
The Dutch star is understood to have fractured a handful of relationships with team-mates at Villarreal and has thus travelled to England to negotiate a loan deal with potential suitors until the end of the season.
