Everton goalkeeper Dan Rose 'turns down three-year scholarship deal at Goodison Park to join Schalke'... which sees the teenager 'become Bundesliga club's first-ever English youth player'

Everton youth goalkeeper Dan Rose has turned down a contract with the Toffees and will join Schalke instead, according to reports in Italy.

The 16-year-old will leave the Toffees as a free agent after turning down a three-year scholarship contract to stay on at Goodison Park.

As a result, Rose will become the next English export to join Jadon Sancho and Ademola Lookman in the Bundesliga, according to Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Should the move go through, Rose will become the first non-German youth goalkeeper at Schalke and will in turn become the club's first ever English youth player.
