Everton FC manager latest: Marco Silva to be appointed this week

Everton are expected to appoint Marco Silva as their new manager later this week.

Silva, the former Watford and Hull boss, has agreed a deal in principle to succeed Sam Allardyce at Goodison Park, according to reports.

Everton wanted to appoint Silva back in October, when Ronald Koeman was fired after a dreadful start to the season. Then in charge of Watford, Silva was refused permission to talk to the Toffees, and after a swift downturn in form he was sacked by the Vicarage Road side.

Watford made an official complaint to the Premier League over an alleged illegal approach from Everton, and talks have been underway this summer regarding a compensation package that must be paid to the Hornets.
