Everton Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of former club chaplain Father Brian Crane at the age of 78.
Father Crane was club chaplain during the 1980s having become firm friends with a number of players and staff, but in particular Howard Kendall. Indeed, Fr Crane took part in the legendary manager’s funeral service last October.
Another man close to Brian was Kevin Sheedy, who would often spend time with him away from the Club.
Upon hearing of his passing, Sheedy told evertonfc.com: “It is really devastating news. I have known Father Crane ever since my playing days.
