Theo Walcott’s thumping second-half strike saw Everton earn a 1-0 win over Newcastle in what was an historic night in Premier League history.
The game itself had little incident but all the headlines will be given to 14-year-old Everton fan Jack McLinden, who served as a ‘remote’ match day mascot with the aid of a robot.
Jack was too ill to attend the game as he suffers from multiple health conditions, so Toffees captain Phil Jagielka carried the device onto the pitch to allow Jack to have the Goodison Park experience.
