Everton legend Duncan Ferguson has rejected the chance to follow Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid because he wants to succeed him at Goodison Park, according to reports.
Ferguson, 49, was part of Ancelotti's coaching staff on Merseyside and is said to have been offered a spot alongside him again at the Bernabeu after his surprise departure this week.
But The Sun have claimed that Ferguson believes he is ready to become a full-time manager, having enjoyed a successful caretaker stint in the past, and is now gunning for Everton's top job.
