Former Everton defender Alan Stubbs believes Davy Klaassen’s arrival at the club spells the end of Ross Barkley’s Toffees career.

The Ajax captain joined the blue half of Merseyside in a £23.5million deal on Thursday a few hours after a £30million transfer for promising goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was completed.

England international Barkley’s future has been in doubt at Everton for some time after manager Ronald Koeman revealed the midfielder would be sold if he didn’t sign a new contract.
