Chelsea U23 2-2 Everton U23: Goals from Bassala Sambou and Liam Walsh take Toffees closer to title

Everton moved a step closer to the Premier League 2 title with a 2-2 draw at Chelsea on Friday evening - with a Manchester City goal rush the only way they can now be denied.

The Toffees' under 23 side moved six points clear of City at the top of the table and will be crowned champions if closest challengers City fail to win at Liverpool.

Indeed, City would need to win both their remaining fixtures with an eight-goal swing to deny David Unsworth's Everton side the trophy.
