Everton's Morgan Schneiderlin has revealed voting for French international team-mate N'Golo Kante as his Player of the Season and says Chelsea's Premier League title challenge has relied on the most renowned holding midfield player since Claude Makelele.
Schneiderlin may personally miss out his anticipated midfield battle with Kante at Goodison Park on Sunday after hurting his thigh in training and requiring a scan to see if it's torn.
But even from the sidelines he's aware how difficult Chelsea will be to break down with Kante's energy.
'I voted for him as the best player this season, not because we are both French, but because he deserved it,' smiles the Everton player.
