Everton teenager Thierry Small has been included in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad to face Sheffield Wednesday tonight.
The 16-year old left-back could become the club’s youngest ever player if introduced during the FA Cup Fourth Round tie at Goodison.
The record is currently held by Jose Baxter, now at Memphis, who made his Everton debut as a substitute against Blackburn Rovers aged 16 years and 191 days in 2008. Small is 15 days younger at 16 years and 176 days.
Everton could make Thierry Small their youngest every player if he plays on Sunday night
Everton are keen to reward Small’s progress amid recent interest from Bayern Munich, Juventus and Arsenal, and selection in Ancelotti’s squad should underline the potential pathway is there for him to progress.
