Seamus Coleman netted his first international goal to earn the Republic of Ireland a 1-0 win over Georgia in a 2018 World Cup qualifier.
On his 40th appearance for his nation, captain Coleman notched the all-important strike 11 minutes into the second half to earn Martin O’Neill’s victory in Dublin.
The 27-year-old right-back was rewarded when, after a determined run down the right flank, his attempted cross deflected back into his path to allow him to convert from close range.
James McCarthy also played in the match, returning from a hamstring injury to play 90 minutes for the Boys in Green.
