Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a contender to win the 2017 Golden Boy award – given to Europe’s most impressive footballer under the age of 21.
Run by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, the award sees the Blues youngster – who netted two goals in Wednesday’s 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Sunderland – among 25 contenders alongside the likes of Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, PSG’s Kylian Mbappé and Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembélé.
Calvert-Lewin has been quick to make an impression since joining Everton from Sheffield United last summer. The 20-year-old grabbed his first Toffees goal in the 4-0 win over Hull City in March, before helping England lift the Under-20 World Cup in the summer, netting the winner in the final against Venezuela.
