Burnley defender Michael Keane comes out second best in battle with Everton striker Romelu Lukaku but he isn't the first... nor will he be the last

Forget the England debut and admiring glances from elsewhere, the biggest compliment paid to Michael Keane recently came at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

Romelu Lukaku fears nobody in this division, and so that the Premier League's top goalscorer preferred to drift towards Burnley's other central defender, Ben Mee, was high praise indeed.

Lukaku is one for the physical encounter, although Keane's soaring reputation is such that even the very best would rather steer clear if they can help it.

The pair might well be team-mates next season - Ronald Koeman has made it clear Everton will bid this summer - but those in blue on Merseyside will have noticed that Keane is not yet completely flawless.
