Everton finally bagged three points at the sixth time of asking with a 3-1 win at Brentford.
Abdoulaye Doucoure put the Toffees ahead inside six minutes with a half-volley but Brentford were back on level terms before the half-hour mark via Mathias Jensen.
The Toffees emerged for the second half with renewed hunger and goals from James Tarkowski and Dominic Calvert-Lewin dealt a sucker punch in a five-minute spell.
It's a critical win for Everton after they managed just one point in their first five outings and it relieves some of the pressure that had been mounting on them.
