Everton fell to a 2-1 defeat to Cheltenham Town in the Checkatrade Trophy at the LCI Rail Stadium.
The Blues got off to the perfect start as Robins goalkeeper Calum Kitscha turned the ball into his own net inside five minutes after a strong run by David Henen down the right flank.
But two late goals in the space of three minutes turned the game on its head with Billy Walters heading home an equaliser before Danny Wright converted a penalty to secure a win for the hosts.
The result means all four teams in Northern Group A now have three points going into the final round of fixtures, with only two teams set to progress to the knockout stages of the competition.
