Everton Ladies progressed to the semi-finals of the SSE Women’s FA Cup after a 6-1 victory over Durham Women on Sunday afternoon, with either Arsenal or Charlton waiting in the next round.
The Blue Girls started the brighter and with just two minutes on the clock Everton had their first chance, Chloe Kelly breaking down the right-hand side, beating her opponent and crossing to Courtney Sweetman-Kirk who unfortunately hit her shot straight at Helen Alderson in the Durham goal. Four minutes later Durham responded to their earlier scare as Zoe Ness lined up a shot from twenty yards out however Kirstie Levell was equal to it, calmly pushing the shot over the bar.
