Leighton Baines says Everton are ready to “push on” and rise up the Premier League table after their 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
Baines lined up for the Blues for the first time in more than three months in the victory over the Seagulls, producing an accomplished performance in both defence and attack.
As well as being part of a back-four that kept an in-form Brighton side quiet, the 33-year-old made several trademark surges forward and set up Cenk Tosun for his emphatic 76th-minute finish.
Baines also combined well with the impressive Yannick Bolasie on Everton’s left flank, with the pair’s link-up one of many highlights in what was a dominant Toffees display.
