Ryan Giggs confirmed Ashley Williams was taken to hospital for an X-ray after suffering a suspected rib injury during Wales’ 0-0 draw with Mexico.
Williams, the Everton defender, was forced off after stretching for the ball in the 17th minute and he was clearly in some discomfort as he left the field.
"He's gone to the hospital to get an X-ray," Wales manager Giggs said of the Everton defender after the game.
"He's gone to check that there's no real damage, maybe just a cracked rib.
"They're really painful. You breathe, you sneeze, you cough - it's agony.
