Sam Allardyce says his players must be at their best to win against Newcastle United, warning the trip to St James’ Park will be just as testing as Sunday’s Merseyside derby.
The Blues head to the north east looking to extend their four-game unbeaten run, following victories over West Ham United, Huddersfield Town and Apollon Limassol, and a 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield last time out.
The goal at Anfield was the first the Toffees had conceded since Allardyce took charge of the side late last month - and the new boss says the improving defensive record is thanks to a collective effort.
