Thirty-five Everton Academy staff members will be pulling on their running shoes this weekend to take part in the BTR Liverpool Half Marathon to raise funds for Everton in the Community (EitC), the Club’s official charity which supports the most vulnerable and underprivileged members of the local community.
The group will join the 5,500 runners taking part in the milestone 25th silver anniversary Liverpool Half Marathon on Sunday, starting at 9am from under the gaze of the Liver Birds at Pier Head.
The 35-strong Academy group – which includes former Blues striker Phil Jevons, Head of Academy Coaching Sean Lundon, Everton Academy graduate Steven Schumacher and Academy Manager Joel Waldron – have raised 59 per cent of their £5,000 fundraising target so far through public donations and sponsorship from Alpha Business Products Ltd, STATSports and the University of Central Lancashire.
