ST. LOUIS – After leading the University of Evansville softball team to a perfect 5-0 record to open the 2022 season, Izzy Vetter and Sydney Weatherford were recognized by the Missouri Valley Conference on Tuesday. Vetter was named the MVC Pitcher of the Week while Weatherford opened her career as the league's Newcomer of the Week.
"Congratulations to Izzy and Sydney. Izzy came out on fire this season in the circle. She was in total control this weekend of her pitches and really dominated," UE head softball coach Mat Mundell said. "Sydney got off to an amazing start to her career both in the circle and at the plate.
