CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - It was a day of challenges for the University of Evansville men's and women's track and field teams in the first day of competition at the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships in Cedar Falls, Iowa Saturday.
While the MVC's top teams ran away from the pack in the opening heats, a few Aces stood out in the competition. In the men's 35 lb. weight throw, freshman Michael Boots edged out his senior teammate, Ryan Freeman for sixth place in the first flight, with a distance of 12.84 meters, breaking the school mark he set last week at the Eastern Illinois University Friday Night Special.
