EVANSVILLE, Ind. –The University of Evansville swimming and diving program has announced plans to establish the Jason D. Morse '98 Memorial Endowed Scholarship. Morse passed away in 2017 after a three-and-a-half year battle with Adult Recurrent Wilms Cancer.
Morse attended UE from 1994 through 1998, where he excelled as a distance freestyle swimmer for the UE swimming & diving program. Morse placed fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference Championships in the 1,650-yard freestyle as a freshman, while placing eighth as a sophomore. He also was the first Purple Ace to break the 4:40 barrier in the 500-yard freestyle, as he left UE holding the school record in the event with a time of 4:39.
