CARBONDALE, Ill. – Halie Fain and Haley Woolf combined to go a perfect 5-for-5 from the plate in Friday night's series opener as the University of Evansville softball team dropped a 6-3 decision to Southern Illinois. Box Score (PDF) Fain had an efficient 3-for-3 game with an RBI while Woolf was 2-2 with a run scored. Katie McLean went 1-2 on the night while Allison Dagget was 2-3. Both scored a run. Izzy Vetter was the UE (12-20, 2-7 MVC) starter, allowing six runs on six hits in four innings of work. Emily Lockhart tossed the final two innings, allowing just one hit.
