EVANSVILLE – Marshall Ray and his University of Evansville men's soccer team kicked off their ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic in exciting fashion on Friday night as the Purple Aces battled to a 2-2 draw with visiting Portland at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
The Aces, who entered the contest with a No. 10 regional ranking and in search of their first Aces Soccer Classic crown since 2013, fell victim to a late comeback effort against the visiting Pilots. The teams now sit at 2-2-1 and 3-1-1 on the season, respectively.
In the day's earlier contest, Fort Wayne hammered home an overtime winner to pick up a 4-3 win over Bradley.
