EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Ryan Taylor and Jaylon Brown each scored 22 points, David Howard added 21 points and Evansville beat Drake 87-70 Tuesday night for its fourth straight win.
Graham Woodward made a 3 for Drake to reduce its deficit to 55-52 with 13:14 remaining. But Evansville countered with a pair of Dru Smith free throws, Taylor hit a 3, and Howard made a pair of free throws to extend the lead 10 in less than a two-minute span.
After the teams exchanged 3s, Evansville (14-14, 5-10 Missouri Valley) scored six straight and led 71-55.
