NASHVILLE - Battling the second ranked Commodores, the University of Evansville baseball team put forth a good showing, falling to Vanderbilt, 6-0, on Tuesday evening in Nashville.
After Evansville went down in order to start the first, Vanderbilt got on the board quickly, scoring a run on an RBI groundout by Ty Duvall with one out in the inning.
Evansville did a good job of executing defensively, getting a pair of shutout innings from Tyler Denu and Drew Dominik that held Vandy's advantage to 1-0 through three.
Following a second Vanderbilt run in the bottom of the fourth, the Aces threatened in the top of the fifth.
