Early stifling defense not enough as Aces fall to No. 11 Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Led by a strong defensive effort early, the University of Evansville men's soccer team held off the 11th-ranked Cardinals for the entirety of the first half before two second-half goals helped lead Louisville to a 2-0 win on Tuesday evening in Louisville, Ky.

"It was a great midweek battle for our guys this evening," said Aces head coach Marshall Ray. "For stretches of the game, we played toe-to-toe with the No. 11 team in the country. We were unfortunate not to go into half up 1-0, but our guys came out of the half and responded well and continued to put them under pressure.
