DES MOINES, Iowa – The University of Evansville women's soccer team and Drake certainly may have seemed like they were trending in opposite directions in recent weeks, but that all changed on Sunday as the Purple Aces picked up a Missouri Valley Conference victory over the league favorite Bulldogs, handing the hosts a 1-0 decision at Cownie Soccer Complex.
"The whole season matters, but obviously, conference is what is most important to us," UE head coach Krista McKendree said. "That's what we try to focus on, and that's how we use the non-conference schedule. Hopefully we can play some decent soccer, but we can also find what works best and what doesn't to prepare us for games like today.
