ST. LOUIS – A huge series sweep over Southern Illinois was not the only big news of the week for the University of Evansville volleyball team. On Tuesday – Purple Aces junior Alondra Vazquez was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week for her efforts against the Salukis.
Vazquez had a spectacular week of action in leading the Aces to the two league victories. The junior recorded an average of 5.57 kills and 4.43 digs per set while accumulating four service aces, six block assists and one solo. On top of that, she hit a strong .
