ROSEMONT, Ill. – In the finale of Friday's opening day at the Total Control Invitational, the University of Evansville softball team fell by a 9-1 final against DePaul.

"It was a tough day at the ballpark, we just did not play like we are capable of playing as a team," UE head softball coach Mat Mundell said. "The positive thing is the mistakes are correctable and tomorrow as a new day. We will come ready to play!"
Evansville notched four hits in the game with Toni Galas, Katie McLean, Bailee Bostic and Ashleigh Downing accounting for them.
