EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - In its season-opening exhibition, the University of Evansville women's soccer team fell to SIUE on the road, 2-0, in Edwardsville, Ill.
For the opening 25 minutes of the match, the Purple Aces defense kept SIU off the board as the home team recorded six shots.
The Cougars tallied their first goal of the match in the 27th minute on a goal by Andrea Frerker to give SIUE a 1-0 lead. Mere seconds prior to the halftime break, SIUE added its second goal of the match on a score from Kayla Klipsch that gave the Cougars a 2-0 lead at the half.
