RALEIGH, N.C. – Tenth-ranked North Carolina State launched five home runs and nine doubles Friday afternoon as part of a 24-hit attack to win the series-opener over the visiting University of Evansville baseball team, 24-6, at Doak Field at Dail Park in Raleigh, North Carolina.
NC State freshman first baseman Tommy White went 5-for-6 with three home runs and six RBI in his first collegiate game, and sophomore DH Dominic Pilolli went 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI to ignite the Wolfpack's offensive attack. White's solo home run in the top of the first inning set the tone for the day, and Pilolli capped a seven-run second inning with a two-run home run of his own.
