Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is without a doubt one of the best players on the Edmonton Oilers roster. The baby-faced center, who we here at Oil on Whyte call “Baby Nuge,” has been a piece of the puzzle ever since being taken first overall in the 2011 NHL draft. However, as of late, it seems as if Nuge is taking a bit of a fall.
We mean it. The 22-year-old center has gone eight games without a goal and has only three points through those games. Not to mention that he is minus-8 through those games. With 17 points and a minus-5 rating through 24 games, he appears to be having a good season, but his play is starting to dwindle a bit.
