With the 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs fading into history and the NHL draft weekend (June 22-23) fast approaching, the trade rumour mill is stirring back to life.
June is usually among the busiest months for trade activity. That's because general managers have more salary-cap dollars to work with. This year, the cap is expected to rise from $75 million to around $80 million for 2018-19. That could lead to some notable players carrying expensive contracts becoming trade candidates.
