EDMONTON - When Matt Fraser joined the Edmonton Oilers last season, he said he wanted to part of the solution.
Now he’s not even in the NHL club’s future plans.
During this off-season of change, Monday turned out to be the end of the line for a number of players in the Oilers’ organization, most notably Fraser, goaltender Tyler Bunz, defenceman Keith Aulie and winger Curtis Hamilton. None of them were issued qualifying offers, which would have prolonged their life in the organization.
Defencemen Justin Schultz and Brandon Davidson, as well as winger Tyler Pitlick, are the only players Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli elected to qualify.
