EDMONTON — Bob Nicholson is now officially in charge of the all aspects of the Oilers Entertainment Group.
“As of (Monday), everyone in the organization reports to me,” Nicholson said when I asked him how the hierarchy of the Edmonton Oilers organization works.
Last summer, when Nicholson joined the Oilers, he and Kevin Lowe were equals. Nicholson was overseeing the business side of the OEG, while Lowe was at the top of the hockey operations pyramid.
That is no longer the case, and many are wondering what that means for Lowe. Nicholson was very vague about his plans for hockey operations, but you can expect an announcement in the coming weeks, possibly months, about specific roles and titles for the people in that department.
