Since the first time he put on an Edmonton Oilers jersey, Jordan Eberle has one of the Oilers top offensive players. Eberle scored a beautiful backhand goal – his signature move – and added an assist in first career NHL game back in October 2010 and never looked back. After registering 18 goals in his rookie season, he scored a career-high 34 goals in 2011-12. Since then he has been chasing that total and I believe this year he will score 40 goals.
Eberle can score goals in bunches, but some lengthy goalless droughts over the past couple of seasons and the Oilers’ underachieving powerplay are the main reasons he hasn’t established himself as a consistent 30 goal scorer to this point.
