Edmonton Oilers Updates: Kassian, Davidson, Larsson and More

The Edmonton Oilers broke out in their 7-4 win over the Calgary Flames Wednesday. Coming off a strong performance, the team practiced Thursday in preparation for Friday’s rematch with the Flames.

Zack Kassian earned a promotion to the second line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Benoit Pouliot. The 6-foot-3, 214-pound winger scored a goal in the season opener and had a solid overall game. He definitely deserves time on the top-six, given his performance.

To allow Kassian time on the second line, the Oilers demoted Anton Slepyshev to the fourth line. He skated alongside Tyler Pitlick and Mark Letestu following a quiet game Wednesday.
