Edmonton Oilers Unlikely to Pursue Free Agent Defenders

The Edmonton Oilers are not likely to dip into the Free Agent Frenzy when it comes to defensemen. According to TSN’s Ryan Rishaug, the Oilers don’t seem likely to go all in for some of the right-handed defensemen on the market, such as Jason Demers or Roman Polak.

There were rumors that the Oilers, Avalanche and Jets were in on some kind of three-way trade, in which the Oilers would walk away with Tyson Barrie and hand the Avalanche Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. That rumor has no official backup to it, but now, it seems that Barrie might be back on the market, and that the Oilers are still ready to target him.
