Cam Talbot has played the most minutes of any goalie in the NHL this season, and he needs a capable backup to give him nights off. Unfortunately, Laurent Brossoit appears shaky and hasn’t proven his worth. Jonas Gustavsson was a disaster, as he went 1-3-1 with a save percentage of .878 and a GAA of 3.10.
Though Brossoit has earned a promotion to the NHL club, he has shown inconsistencies of a rookie goaltender. This season, Brossoit boasts a save percentage is .930 and a GAA of 2.75, which are decent stats.
However, with Talbot starting a variety of back-to-back matchups, it’s apparent that the team may not have too much confidence in Brossoit.
