The Edmonton Oilers have been rumored for months to be pursuing New York Islanders star defenseman Travis Hamonic. However, according to David Staples’ latest Cult of Hockey for the “Edmonton Journal,” Hamonic’s future is a cloud of confusion.
According to Staples, Islanders head coach Jack Capuano told reporters after the Islanders’ loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday that he is unsure whether or not Hamonic will be with the team, but isn’t keen on saying he is gone for good.
“I don’t necessarily think that right now we’re thinking that Travis is not going to be with us next year,” Capuano said.
