Over the past number of seasons, the Edmonton Oilers have been labeled as a rebuilding franchise. Everyone thought that they would possibly rebuild in a few years and be ready to be in the NHL as a top 16 team again. Now at this point, they are clawing their way to a wildcard playoff spot that might not be attainable at this point in time.
